As covered by The Gazette and experienced by all of us, the climate crisis is intensifying. Global annual heat records were shattered in 2023. At times last summer, the Air Quality Index in Schenectady was measured at over 200, prompting calls from health professionals to limit outside activities.
To avoid the devastating health and economic impacts of a worsening climate, our legislators must take advantage of opportunities to fund climate investments and pass legislation to protect those most vulnerable during the transition to renewable energy.
